The most well known relates to a person who has been formally elected as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
The election is made by the President of the Institution and is only made after the surveyor has completed an Assessment of Professional Competence.
A qualified surveyor would normally be employed to deal with any formal property matters such as a valuation for loan purposes, landlord and tenant transactions, building surveys, construction cost estimates and acting as an Expert Witness in Arbitration or Court Proceedings. |
